Saxony-Anhalt

On the back of a €33 billion investment from Intel and plans to create a supra-regional ‘High-Tech Park’, the state of Saxony-Anhalt is becoming a leading hub for the semicoductor and other innovative tech industries.

The Investment and Marketing Corporation Saxony-Anhalt is the economic development agency of the German federal state of Saxony-Anhalt. On behalf of Saxony-Anhalt’s Ministry of Economic Affairs, Tourism, Agriculture and Forestry, IMG Saxony-Anhalt is marketing the state as a science and business location. It is also responsible for promoting Saxony-Anhalt as a tourism destination at home and abroad.

INTEL® INVESTS IN MAGDEBURG

The semiconductor manufacturer and industry giant Intel announced its decision to locate in Magdeburg in March 2022. The city thus prevailed against several European competitors. Intel initially wants to build two chip factories in Magdeburg. With an investment of more than 33 billion euros, it is the largest foreign direct investment ever made in Germany. Parallel to the Intel settlement, a new supra-regional industrial and commercial area - the High-Tech Park - is being created in the south-west of Magdeburg on a total area of 1,100 hectares, where other companies from the semiconductor industry and other high-tech sectors and their suppliers are to settle.

Join our Networking Event organized by GTAI and IMG Saxony-Anhalt that is part of the program for the internationalization of regions in structural change (ISW-Program) funded by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action.
