As one of Germany’s leading industrial hubs, Bremen and its sister city Bremerhaven are at home in many sectors – from aerospace, wind power and logistics to the maritime and automotive, hydrogen or IT-industries. Companies like Mercedes, Airbus and InBev, which brews world-famous Beck’s beer, are also situated here. With the fourth-largest container port in Northern Europe and the highest export ratio of all German federal states, Bremen values international relations. Around 50 technology research institutes help to put new ideas into practice, including 3D printing and artificial intelligence. Bremen is also passionate about things that make life more enjoyable. The city offers a wide range of art and entertainment, is located by the riverside and boasts plenty of green spaces – in fact, it is Germany’s greenest urban centre.

A Bremen brand on the rise: ENGINIUS wants to conquer the European market for alternative drive systems with its hydrogen-powered commercial vehicles. Founded as a subsidiary of the well-known commercial vehicle brand FAUN, the company moved to Bremen to take advantage of the excellent infrastructure, available skilled labour and good connections. After the first successful model, a waste collection vehicle, further truck types are to be added. The company wants to grow in the coming years as the hydrogen economy strengthens and develop energy-efficient transport solutions.
